MKMK Visit Shakopee

We just had our second visitors of 2011 leave this morning.  Goodbyes are always sucky!

My FU (favorite uncle) Bubba, Aunt Kit and cousins Madison and Katharine came to eat a Juicy Lucy .. and visit Craig and I while the girls were on Spring Break!  We had a blast during their trip (hopefully they did, too)!  I haven't laughed that hard in a long time .. I have some of the goofiest family in the world (most of their comments will be left out of this blog because they say some of the most crazy things!) - I wouldn't trade them for anything though!

The Williams clan arrived on Friday.  Months before they were coming I told them to be prepared to meet Bryer.  Nobody every believes me when I try and tell them how crazy our dog really is.  I don't exaggerate in the least bit, our dog is certifiably CRAZY!

Bub got a Bryer welcome right after he sat on the couch.  His quote from Facebook for this picture was "I've trained police dogs and come away with fewer scars."  Ladies and gentlemen - HE'S NOT LYING!

That night we started the eating tour of Minnesota.  Our first dinner was at Bucca.

Craig and Bub had a candlelit wine date.  Aww - how cute!

Crazy girls.  I don't think there are any other words to describe those two.

This statue at dinner was a big hit!  Katharine couldn't believe that there were naked statues like this one all over the restaurant where people were trying to eat.  They thought it was super hilarious so of course there was a picture with the statue!  :)

After dinner we came home and played with Craig's PS3.  This would be Madison dancing the Soulja Boy and Katharine rapping.  I almost peed my pants during this moment.

Bryer LOVED Katharine.  Not so sure she felt the same way.

Then we ventured out to the Mall of America!  First stop was for Madison to get her ear pierced!  Madison was freaking out the entire time as if she were going into labor with her first born child.  The lady says "Okay.  I will count to three so you will know when it's coming.  1..

"2."  This was Madison's face when the lady got to 2.  What a goober!  :)

Then, instead of shopping until our legs fell off.  The girls wanted to ride some rides.  Which was pretty cool because I had never even been in the amusement park part of the mall!

The next stop on the eating tour - 5.8 club!  They had to try the Juicy Lucy, after all, it was the whole reason they came to Minnesota!  :)  The Juicy Lucys were a big hit!  Later on in the week they also went to Matt's Bar to compare the two hamburgers (I had to work so I didn't get to go) and the overall opinion was that the 5.8 club definitely has the better Juicy Lucy!

We had to do some traditional Easter Egg dying!  Guess who was the one that cracked an egg?  If you guess Madison - you were correct!

Between the few moments when Bryer wasn't ripping everyone to shreds, he LOVED to lick everyone.  This grossed out Kit (it grosses me out, too) but Bub didn't have to bathe the entire time he was here because Bryer licked him so much!

We finally made a trip out to the Cherry and the Spoon!  I've never been out there and I've always wanted to go!  It was a b-e-a-utiful day on Sunday and the perfect day to just get out and walk around and do some exploring!

For Easter lunch we decided to go to Pizza Luce.  The original plan was to go to Burrito Loco, but they were closed :( then we tried Matt's, they were closed, too :( so Pizza it was!  Bub decided to get a beer tour!  Happy Easter!

After that, we went walking by the Mississippi River to check out everything down there.  We got really excited because we saw a boat pulling two things into the locke system.  We were all stoked because we thought we were going to get to see something go through the locks.  We stood on the bridge and waited.. and waited.. and waited.. and waited.. the boat pulls in and turns around, pulls in and ties something up to the side, pulls in and ties something else up.  After about an hour and a half the dang boat pulls in and hooks up - SWEET! Then the stupid boat backs all the way out of the locke system without ever looking back.. grrrr

FINALLY - on Tuesday we got to go to Burrito Loco.  It was HEAVEN!

The last stop on the food tour was the Original Pancake House.  Bacon Pancakes - YUM!

All of Bryer's entertaining really wore him out.  He's done nothing but sleep today!  He's bored with Mom and Dad and is missing his new friends.  Too bad he chased them away!

I'm so glad that Bub and Kit and the girls got to come experience Minnesota!  I love all 4 of you!  Thanks for all the laughs!  :)

Now .. if I could only get my parents to come visit..

Weekend at Breezy Rock

I just got back from my trip home, and it was amazing.  How could it have been anything else?  After I left the vet (sobbing) I found my way to the MSP airport, found the parking lot, then found my terminal all by myself!  woo!  Then the plane was delayed.. ugh!  So I did not make it into Roanoke until around 6:00.  My grumpy grandaddy was there waiting for me when I got off the plane - arms wide open!  Yes, you read that right, I got a grumpy hug!

Everyone was waiting at the house for me to get home!  We pull in the driveway and there are Mom, Dad, Brett, Madison, Katharine, Bub, Kit, Craig, Nannie, Grandaddy, Gogga, Deedie, Sara, Jessica, Jake, Randy and Kathy all waiting on me and I make a b-line to see my beautiful Gray baby!  He's the most gorgeous horse I've ever seen!

I spent all day Friday running around, then that evening we got to celebrate my Sweet Little Dad's birthday!  We went to the Homeplace for dinner.

This is a plate full of Heaven!  The Homeplace is the most spectacular country cooking you will ever eat in your life (yes, they have other things other than biscuits, chicken and mashed potatoes, but who needs to eat the veggies when this stuff tastes sooo good).  I will fight people for the bowl of mashed potatoes, and everyone who knows me knows that too!  One of mine and Craig's first dates was to the Homeplace and he already knew just to order an extra bowl of mashed potatoes because I would eat an entire bowl by myself!

After the Homeplace we came back to our house to cut the cake and open presents (a Glass Family tradition).  Now let me preface this story by saying that Brett's horses had their shots on Thursday.  They get 7 vaccinations which is two shots, one on each side of their neck.  Anyways - Brett goes down to check on the horses after he's fed them their grain for dinner and uh-oh, my sweet Gray has not eaten his dinner but he's eating his hay.  His hay is fed to him in a container that is up at eye-level.  He eats his grain in a tub on the floor - apparently his neck was so sore it wasn't worth eating dinner.  He flashed his Dad the most pitiful sad eyes he had (it worked) and Brett instantly tied his feed bucket to the wall so he could eat.  Naturally anyone that knows me knows I freak out over just about anything.  Therefore I think because the Gray didn't eat, he's on his death bed, which means I have to go check on him.  He flashes me those same sad eyes and I walk into his stall and start rubbing him.  He walks up to me and drops his head down close to my stomach and I am to scratch his ears.  I could have stayed in that stall with that horse all night long.  He's got my brother and I completely wrapped around his fingers - and I would not have it any other way.

I would do anything for this horse - one day I WILL show him!  :)

Then on Saturday we went to Craig and Jenna's wedding!
The best man and I!  He cleans up nicely don't you think?

The groom and I (the other Craig - who apparently can't take a picture with his eyes open)

My Craig says to me "I need a picture of me with you and Craig so I can frame it and put it on my desk.  My wife and my best friend."  What a goober.

Believe it or not - outside of all the running around, I actually found time to ride my Gray horse - TWICE!  I got a little more gutsy the second time.  Then Brett wanted to take some pictures with me and my boy, and since he is an AMAZING photographer, how could I say no?  Here are some of the pics from Gray and I!

I feel like I should probably explain this one.  I am wearing Dad's jeans because I didn't bring any riding clothes home.  Brett wrapped my legs with polo wraps (which are supposed to go on a horse, Gray has them on his back legs.)  When he wrapped my legs he pulled my pants down and therefore I was permanently sagging.  I could barely sit in the saddle!  It was really funny though!

For my first try I was a little nervous to go by myself - Brett, being the good brother he is, walked with me to help my nerves!

Words cannot express how much I love this guy!

Lesson #2.  We started out thinking that I would just hop on and ride (without Brett riding him first).  Well this sounded all fine and dandy until I got in the ring with them and then was like "oh, crap, Brett better get on first".  This is my favorite picture ever - Brett is in my helmet and my saddle with the stirrups adjusted to my length.  Thats why he looks like such a goober!

Lesson #2 - Brett was barely beside me!  I trotted him so much by myself it was CRAZY!  I loved it!

He was so good.  My goal now is to show him and hunter pace him, we have a lot of work to do, but I think we can do it!  :)

Here are some of the pictures post-ride that my bro took:

To top it all off, we even managed to take a family photo!

This is the most amazing family in the world!  I would be lost without them!  <3

Quality Time With Bry-man

As many of you know Craig flew to Roanoke on Friday to take care of his best man duties, which has left Bryer and I alone until Thursday.  I was a little unsure about this whole being by myself thing at first, but now that I have my little buddy with me it's a whole different story!  We've actually had a really good time so far - or at least I have!

We started our weekend off with a new toy!  Before I came home on Friday I stopped at Target to pick up a few things and found this lovely squeaky blue bear.  To make it even better, this little guy was only 89 cents!  woo!  I came in the door and before I got Bryer out of his crate I laid the new bear in the middle of our living room floor.  I went to get him out and he had his kong in his mouth (like usual) after he got lots of love he came downstairs and spotted the bear.  He secretly dropped his kong and traded it for the bear.  I still think he thinks he found it and he thinks he's not supposed to have it (little rebel), but let me tell you, he LOVES this bear!

He spent the first part of Friday night looking for his Dad.  Which completely broke my heart.  Eventually he settled down and went to bed.  Later that night he got a wild hair and completely shredded a orange rope toy of his - needles to say he's been pooping orange for the last few days!

He got a little confused on Saturday.  He thought it was laundry day (which is actually Sunday) and he was trying to tell me that this dishrag really needed to be washed.  He popped his head into our computer room (where I was sitting) with the rag in his mouth then after I caught him ran a lap around our bedroom and ran right into his crate!  He knows when he's done something wrong!

Bryer and I went for a walk early Saturday morning.  Then Saturday afternoon we went for another one.  In the middle of this walk I thought to myself "Hey!  Let see if Bryer likes to run!"  So I did, and he LOVES to run - I'm sure you all find that hard to believe!  :)  Sunday after I got home from horseback riding I took him for another run, we ran a lot more this time!  I think he had a blast and I'm super excited that I have a new running buddy!  Look out Kristi and Tumbles, Bryer and Ashleigh will soon give you a run for your money!  ;)

This is by far his favorite spot in the house!  He has to stand guard for Mom and make sure everything is right in the neighborhood!

After our Sunday run, it was Stick Sunday time.  Apparently he was too tired from running and standing guard to eat his stick.  He chewed all the granola off the outside and the stick is now sitting in the window sill of our bedroom window!  I guess he's saving it for later!

"Shew, Mom, I am just exhausted!"

Words cannot express how much I love this dog!  He is the most amazing dog I have ever known.  He's really not a dog, he's my son!  :)  I know I'm crazy!

He definitely has a major part of my heart!  I'm going to cry like a baby when I leave him on Thursday :(
