The Weekend

Our weekend started off with two doctor appointments - one for me and one for Hunter. I got the okay to go ahead and start exercising! WOOHOO! P90X - here I come! Everything checked out great with Hunter, too! He weighs 11.4 pounds (75th percentile) and is 22.75 inches long (80th percentile) - little man is growing like crazy! He had to get a shot at the end of his visit. It just about killed me. He got so upset - he had real tears and everything!  The next visit he gets 3 - I'm positive that I will cry on that visit!

After the doctor visit we started our journey into Roanoke.

Hunter slept the entire 3 hours! He was very awake when we got to Breezy Rock - took one nap - then refused to go to sleep again! It took me forever to get him to go to bed! Hunter got to meet the Fabulous Brandi! He was so amazed by her! He just kept staring and staring! Little man has good taste already!

This was the one nap that Hunter took on Friday!  He and his Dad were very tired from the long drive!

On Saturday all the grandparents came over to visit with Hunter!  Then it was time for Hunter to go to his first party!  Bub is turning 50, so Kit threw him a big surprise party.  Hunter was there long enough to eat a bottle and then we headed home!

Saturday was also the start of some major stress.  When Brett woke up on Saturday morning he could tell that my sweet Gray Pony was not feeling well.  He called into work and called the vet. Brett stayed by the Gray's side all day.  He would walk him when needed to try and get him to poop - but nothing seemed to work.  Finally at the end of the day he decided to take him up to VT because he was just not improving.  The doctors told Brett that his only options were surgery or to be put down.  Brett decided to go ahead and try the surgery.  He ended up having a lypoma around part of his intestine and the doctors removed 4 feet of his intestine.  After the surgery he seemed to be doing really well.  The last call they got said that he was going downhill again and could possibly need a second surgery.  That horse is so lucky to have Brett as his owner.  Brett has done everything he possibly can do to save that horse and he isn't giving up yet!  Say a little prayer and cross your fingers that Brett will be bringing Gray home next week.

On Sunday, Hunter went to church for the first time.  I have never seen anything cuter than him dressed in his church clothes!  He was absolutely perfect at church - he just slept the entire time.  Shocked?

Here are some more pictures from this weekend:

On the way home, Hunter slept all three hours again!

Please say some prayers for that Gray pony.

1 Month!

His cheeks look so chubby!

My sweet baby is one month old today!  Holy moly how can this be?  Where has the time gone? So much has happened and he has changed so much already!  He's gone from being swaddled when he sleeps to no longer needing to be swaddled.  He is awake so much more.  He's decided he doesn't like to be nursed he would rather have his milk out of a bottle - which we are still really trying to figure out.  He thinks he needs to eat CONSTANTLY.  He's also decided that he doesn't really like to nap during the day - apparently there is too much going on.  He's also has impeccable timing when it comes to pooping - he waits until I've just put him in a clean diaper with a fresh coat of diaper cream - then he poops.  I absolutely LOVE how he watches me when I talk.  I LOVE how he smiles in his sleep and while he's eating.  I LOVE how he sucks on his fist like its going to start pouring out milk when he's hungry.  I LOVE how he holds his hands in fists right next to his face when he's eating.  I hate that time is going to fast because I know that by the time I turn around he will be leaving me to go to college.  Oh what a sad, sad day that will be.  I could cry thinking about it.

He sleeps so much better on his tummy.  I can't wait for him to  learn how to roll over.

He had his first meal out at the Olive Garden.

His first bottle by Daddy.  I will admit, I don't like having to share him at feeding time now!

He loves his Mommy!

He loves his Grandpas, too!

Hunter's Third Week

His Dad is already wearing off on him.  He decided to throw up gang signs for his picture today!

Week three started off kind of sad.  Hunter has a snotty nose which has made it hard for him to sleep at night (at least thats what I think) therefore I'm EXHAUSTED!  He had his two week check-up on Thursday.  Wednesday night was a bad sleep night.  We're both sleep deprived, but we get up and I have to give him a sponge bath.  (At this point his belly button hadn't fallen off yet so I couldn't give him a real bath).  I give the poor guy a bath and he cried with real tears for the first time.  It was heartbreaking - I almost cried myself!

Our two week check-up went fabulously!  He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces which is in the 25-50th percentile (a little low but thats okay), he was 21.5 inches long which is in the 75th percentile and his head didn't change but is in the 50th percentile.  Craig was excited that he was measuring good with his height - gives him hope that he will be tall!  Also, while we were sitting in the waiting room waiting on the doctor - HIS BELLY BUTTON CAME OFF!!  wooooo!!  His weenie is healed and his belly button is normal which means he will be getting a real bath!  :)

Hunter still sleeps pretty much all day long!  Must be nice!

Hunter felt the need to learn how to play XBox with his Dad already.  I'm going to have two video gamers on my hands now :(

Some more sleeping - he's just precious though!

We've started really working on tummy time this week.  Hunter LOVES laying on his tummy - I wish he could sleep on his tummy because I know he would sleep a lot better that way!  After about 15 minutes on his belly I go to pick him up and the little booger had hosed down our sheets!  So far - every time we've done tummy time he's peed on himself!

More of my sleeping angel!

On Saturday, it was 70 degrees outside!  We went for a walk - just like everything else, Hunter slept the entire time!

We've also been working on holding toys!  If you look closely he's got a toy in each hand!  He's growing up so fast!

Although all the previous pictures show Hunter sleeping 24/7 - he is usually awake twice during the day.  Once in the morning and once at night!

Hunter had his first bath this week!  We thought his bellybutton was never going to fall off!  I was totally prepared for him to scream bloody murder the entire time, but he didn't even almost cry!  Thank the Lord!

My cute little booker after his bath!  He smells absolutely delicious!

Post bath!  Dad is not crazy about the duck outfit - he thinks he needs to wear something with baseballs on it!

If you haven't guessed by now - you're going to get a Hunter picture overload!

This is one of my favorite things that he does!  I love when I hold him and he leans way back to look at what is going on!

All wrapped up and naked after his bath!  This boy LOVES to be naked!

We've got a wiggle worm on our hands!  He started out laying the same way his seahorse is laying.. this is how he ended up!

Hunter's Second Week

Time is already flying by way too fast

First of all we finally decided to empty our diaper genie.  This is the load of diapers that we got just from having Hunter at home for less than a week!  Holy cow!

Family Photo from when we had visitors.

We started off week two by venturing out to Target!  As usual, Hunter slept the entire time.  We even checked out in the coupon Nazi's lane and that took an extra 30 minutes, and he was still passed out the entire time!

Hunter got some time with Dad while watching football!  I absolutely love how he has his hand resting on his face!

Hunter also got to meet some more of his family.  Great Uncle Bub, Great Aunt Kit, Madison, Katharine, Great-Great Uncle Jim and Great-Great Aunt Deanna all came down to meet the little guy!  Grumpy Great Grandaddy also got a second visit with Hunter.  He and Hunter sat on our couch and chatted for the longest time!  Hunter also wore his special VMI onesie just for GGGDW!

Hunter had a second Christmas with my parents.  Once again, he slept the entire time!  He got the most precious outfit from Uncle Brett - who knew that American Eagle sold baby clothes!?

Craig, Grandma and I took Hunter to the mall to do some shopping on Sunday!  Grandma had a very hard time leaving him in his stroller!  Craig strolled him into Victoria's Secret to see if he could pick up any girls with Hunter - it didn't work!

Craig and I went into Express for 2 minutes.  By the time I came back out this is where Hunter was.  When I left him he was in his stroller!
One thing I really struggle with is putting the little guy down to sleep.  I just want to hold him 24/7.  I realize that if I ever want to get anything done around the house then I have to do it while he's sleeping, which means I have to lay him down.  I've been working on this..

Hunter has also kind of moved himself from eating every two hours to eating every three, which helps me get an extra hour of sleep at night!  We've also discovered that the little guy likes to nap on his stomach a lot better than trying to sleep on his back!  Of course, laying him on his tummy does make me a bit nervous, so I'm only letting him nap on his belly and I swaddle him at night so he can sleep - as soon as I wrap him up like a burrito, he's pretty much out!

Hunter also had a very busy day on Saturday.  Uncle Brett came down to take newborn pictures of him.  This was Brett's first time at doing newborn pictures and I think he did an absolutely amazing job!  I'm so happy with the pictures!  Here are some of my favorites:

I'm positive he's the cutest kid I've ever seen!

This is one of my all time favorite pictures!  I love when he holds his head up like that and looks around!
He was not a happy camper during the baseball picture shoot!  I like this one because it looks like he's throwing the ball!

This one was the hardest picture to take.  Apparently Craig and I are both idiots when it comes to forming hearts with your hands!
He was giving a speech for this picture!

We go to the doctor tomorrow.  I can't wait to see what they have to say!
