Hunter is a professional nap procrastinator. I rock him to sleep, and while I'm rocking he has his little routine he goes through to avoid the inevitable nap. He will start by playing with the blanket on the back of the rocker, then he needs to take out his pacifier and play with it, then he needs to try and put his hand in my mouth and play with my chin, then he plays with my necklace and finally he goes through an entire concert worth of grunts before giving in. Well, today while he was avoiding his nap I just looked at him and had to laugh - which in turn made him giggle - which made me laugh even more. Both of us were just cracking up at each other. It's definitely little moments like that, that make being a Mom the best job in the world. I love my little nap avoider!

RVHS & Brett's Birthday
This past weekend H and I rolled into Breezy Rock for the Roanoke Valley Horse Show - and to celebrate Brett's birthday! It was just H and I for the ride there and back so I was a little nervous about him being in the back alone for 3 hours. On the way down he did absolutely fabulous. He got a shot in each leg at the doctor and then sat in the back like a champ all the way to BRS! On the way home - now that was a different story. He slept for 40 minutes, woke up and played for 20ish minutes, then decided to scream his head off! I visited two different gas stations with him on 77 before I could get him to settle down. Then he fell asleep and stayed asleep until I put the car in park in our garage! Now, for everything in between, I'll let the pictures do the talking!
Great Gogga bought me a new stroller that has a giant teething ring on it! |
I was originally LIVID that this happened - but after I saw this I had to laugh! |

Squash, Bananas, Oatmeal and Sweet Potatoes
I've been a little behind on my posting of Hunter's baby food journey. (I'm sure everyone has missed it greatly). We've tried four new things - some are not quite as eventful as others. He has now eaten all of the veggies! wooohooo! Here is Hunter's journey - enjoy!
He does have bowls that are other colors! |
Impatient |
My bib is more interesting than the squash. |
I couldn't feed him quick enough! |
You can clearly see how he feels about bananas and oatmeal. He didn't even finish the bowl! |

Carrots
Tonight, Hunter had Carrots for the first time and he ate them in style. We had to bust out the carrots and Bone Fish Grill - therefore I could not be quite AS crazy with my psychotic picture taking as I would have been at home. I still got a few shots though! Hunter seemed to like carrots least of all so far - which totally shocks me! At this point I would rank his veggie liking in the following order: 1 - peas; 2 - green beans; 3 - carrots.
Waiting patiently outside of Bone Fish |
We're going to try carrots again tomorrow and see if the faces are any different! I would have thought he would have like them for sure - apparently I was wrong! He couldn't even eat the whole bowl they were so gross!
